Also 3 parents attended. Apologies: Peter Marriott, Dale Waterhouse, Martin Rogers, Martin Sharp Minute’s of previous AGM (July 2006) proposed: Nigel Wood, seconded: Ian Heaven CHAIRMANS REPORT During the year we had two new teams entered into the Keybury league (under 7s & under 8s) both teams enjoyed their first full season playing football & thanks goes to the managers for taking on the teams. Also during the season an under 6s team was formed & a big thank you goes to Kehinde & David for running both the under 7s & under 6s under difficult circumstances. Work has started on the improvements to the recreation ground at Eldwick, to date the works have been mainly to the playground area, with the backing of the football foundation & a donation from a local housing developer, the pitch works should been soon starting to make the pitch level, but still remaining on a slight slope. It was noted that some local residents had made some objections to the works taking place, this was to be dealt with by the council. Both the fun day & Gala went well this year, a large turnout of players & parents was evident at the fun day & all players received their trophy for the year & there was several pleasing comments from parents of new players, so a big thank you goes to all managers & committee members associated with the club. SECRETARIES REPORT During the year we had approx 140 children signed on with the club, these ranged from 6 to 16 year olds & this shows the hard work put in by all to enable kids of all aged to play for the club. After 12 months of being the club secretary, Lynda has decided to step down due to work commitments, a new secretary is sought to be appointed. TREASURERS REPORT No report could be filed at the time as the treasurer (Andrew Ormondroyd) was on honeymoon. TEAM MANAGEMENT U16s - Martin Rogers U15s - Peter Marriott U14s - Martin Sharp U13s - Martin Cobley U12s - John McEvoy (Eagles) U12s - Gary Horton & Colin Crooke (Falcons) U11s - Ian Heaven & Christian Kent U10s - Roy Housley U9s - Nigel Wood & Dale Waterhouse U8s - Kehinde Joloaso & David Grainger U7s - TBC Proposed: Kehinde Joloaso, seconded: Christian Kent SUBSCRIPTIONS Subscriptions were discussed at length & it was decided by all including parents that without the treasurer being present & the absence of the accounts, it was not appropriate to increase or decrease the price, an EGM is proposed to be held in September 2007 to discuss further. TRAINING COSTS Currently training fees cost £2 per player per session over the course of the season, it was agreed by all that there was no requirement to increase the training fees & therefore they are to remain at £2 per player per session. Due to a change in vat laws, the way in which we make out bookings to claim vat relief has changed, we need to ensure we book blocks of 10 weeks at a time to ensure we can still qualify for the vat relief & therefore keep the training fees at the level of £2. ELECTION OF COMMITTEE Chairman - John McEvoy nominated, proposed Colin Crooke, seconded Gary Horton Secretary - David Slater was put forward, proposed Colin Crooke, seconded Gary Horton Treasurer - Andrew Ormandroyd nominated, proposed Colin Crooke, seconded Gary Horton Child protection officer - position to fill AOB It was agreed in a past meeting that a new kit was to be sourced for the forth coming, the kit has now been ordered & should be available for the start of the season, it was hoped that with a more uniform kit the club would gain a better identity within the local community. Also the club is in the process of placing an order for waterproof jackets for all age groups, these are to be ready mid way through the season, again it was hoped these would give the local community a knowledge that Eldwick juniors is growing at all age groups by the boys/girls wearing them. During the season the club took part in an initiative by Tesco for club sports vouchers, having parents & club members collecting vouchers, the club saved up enough for several balls & training aids for the benefit of the players. Also discussed was the need to have the new under 6s that will hopefully come on board each year, the requirement for a youth development person was talked about & plans are in place to get this up & running, at present no such post exists & this will be discussed further at the first meeting of the football season. |
