Fun Day 23rd June 2007

Bingley the wettest place in Britain' was the headline in the local press in the days before our annual EJFC Fun day. As if this wasn't bad enough, 24 hours before the event itself, the rain was so heavy I think even Noah was about to make a come back !

So the 23rd June duly arrived, and despite all the ominous signs, the weather gods were once again on our side. Either that or it was down to the fact the Kehinde kept repeating to any one who would listen that 'It's gonna be sunny this afternoon' He was almost right. We were treated to the occasional glimpse of the sun, but the main thing was that it didn't rain !!!! Unbelievably there wasn't a single drop throughout the whole afternoon.

This year however we dispensed with tradition as we didn't want to push our luck and we didn't have the usual mid afternoon break for picnics etc and a game between the older boys and Dads who were foolish enough to think that they could still turn on the style.

It was a great turnout with almost all the kids who play for the club turning up. As usual we had the f our pitches to cater for all the age groups and everyone whether they won or lost got their own trophy for their efforts throughout the season.

So well done to all  of the teams throughout the club, and here's to season 07/08
